TATLER
schew all thoughts of a la carte dining and designer threads, it will for the next few months be all about staying mod for the major events on the social register.
Brian Jardim’s 40th rocked the second city last week and with royalty about to grace our shores again, the buzz will be around Trafalgar House and the Jamaica Pegasus. Let’s hope “plenty paper” won’t be assigned to this one!
Thursday night though was all about Jamaica’s first queen of Dancehall, Carlene. With beau, Danhai, never far from her side, the superb hostess welcomed each guest and ensured the continuous flow of Dom Perignon. It was truly a unique experience. The guest list was an interesting pot pourri. The only person missing was David Panton.
Come June, the Munn wedding is expected to be a social swirl unlike all others, and before that Celeste Ritch and Roderick Gordon will say their ‘I do’s’ at Stella Maris, followed by a reception on the East lawns of Devon House.
Kerry Ann Clarke celebrated another year and is positively glowing. We’re holding our breath on this one.
The big one this week, though, is about the well placed ‘wife’ who has been having a wonderfully discreet affair with the diplomat. The tour of duty seems to be coming to an end, both literally and figuratively.
Interventions are being made as we speak for the “wife’ and hubby to be placed overseas. Tatler really cannot seem to be able to figure out what the press release will say. One thing’s for sure, the spin doctors, after two breakfast meetings, have already sent in whopping invoices. According to one person, “this is my retirement fund”.
A Bientot!
P.S.The gorgeous one now has a daughter! Raquel and Michael-Allen Chastenet delivered Ryann Ashley. All are fine.
