Clean sex – the best sex
While speaking to some guys I know I realised that some men are willing to experiment with different sexual practices. For example, this young man ‘Markie’ said that that he liked to suck toes. Now just the thought of it sounds dirty, doesn’t it?
But he pointed out that he took a shower every time he indulged. Well, either he is lying or he is meticulous and plans ahead every time he is going to have sex. Your feet are normally in shoes or slippers or socks that for the most part are smelly and usually dirty as you wear them for long periods. So I personally don’t see what is so exciting about sucking them.
According to a counsellor from the Community Health and Psychiatry Department at the University of the West Indies, the foot at times has fungus and sucking it could ’cause infections and running belly’. However, she argued that practising good hygiene would seriously diminish the risk of this happening. Having said that though, how many of us always take a bath before indulging or take great care of our feet or know that the girl you are with does?
She also went on to point out that ‘good hygiene generally keeps you healthy but will not stop you from getting infections’. If you are going to be involved in oral sex or sucking of different parts of the body it’s ‘better to be clean than dirty’.
According to Ryan M Kull of Columbia University Health and Related Services, in an Internet article on the topic, someone with gum bleeds who practises oral sex increases the risk of catching an infection or HIV if his partner is infected.
So, good hygiene is not a preventative measure but merely good for general health and demeanour.
Demeanour here meaning the effect it has on someone else. Things like bad body odor will turn off possible partners especially for the young ladies who like to wear tight jeans everyday. If one’s sexual organ does not get the necessary air then it can develop a bad odour. According to Marvin Gunter, national director for HIV and youth programmes at the Jamaica Red Cross, wearing too much ‘close-fitting clothes can lead to an infection called thrush’ which is a definite turn-off where sex is concerned. So taking care of these areas to ensure good hygiene is not just for sexual purposes, but for your general health.
Gunter also said that the ‘dirtiest part of the body is the mouth’ because so many germs are inhaled. Some are killed by our bodies but some are not, therefore it is important for us to ensure we brush our teeth properly and regularly to prevent bad breath. It can be very discomforting if you are about to kiss someone only to be greeted by bad breath. Considering that kissing is where sex begins good dental hygiene is good.
It is important to note that while good hygiene does not prevent any major infection, it is good for the body and for the individual in terms of making him/herself more appealing to his/her partner.
