Wine-lips, feather boas and ‘soft bites’

Novia McDonald-Whyte | Editor - Lifestyle & Social Content

When we bumped into Georgette Smith at the close of last year in the middle of a year-end fashion shoot, Valentine’s Day was the farthest thing from our minds.

When she shared with us her stint with the Playboy Group as a make-up consultant, including her assignment to make-up Jenna Jameson (Rolling Stone magazine refers to her as the actress who “put the star in porn” and recognised by Adult Video News as the leading female adult star of all time) author of the much acclaimed, must-read New York Times best seller, How to Make Love Like A Porn Star – not to mention her coveted position as THE make-up artist on “Grammy kid” Damian Jr Gong Marley’s Welcome to Jamrock video – we knew that allwoman’s 2006 Valentine’s Day Fashion editorial would be a tad risque (we have after all come a long way baby) influenced both by Georgette and Jenna.

Get the look.

“You can appeal to the wild side of that special man in your life tomorrow,” shares Georgette Smith, “by giving him sultry eyes.” This look calls for just enough eye shadow at the ends to make your eyes pop. For Pulse model Andrea, Smith went for “sex kitten” smoky eyes.

You’ll need:

Black eyeliner, dark eye shadow, highlight for under brow and an eye shadow brush.

Start with your black pencil from the inner corner of your eye outwards, smudge pencil towards the end of the lash line. Apply dark shadow over the top of smudged line and eyelid, ensuring that the ends are blended neatly. Subtly blend and then apply shimmer under brow bone.

After eye shadow was applied, Smith used false eyelashes to (in her words) “really pump up the eyes.”

“Be careful though,” warns Smith. Equip yourself with the necessary tools: cuticle, scissors, and tweezers. Apply mascara to your natural lashes. To attain a very natural look, measure lashes against your own, be sure to cut off any excess with the cuticle scissors. Apply the clear glue (make it thin) to the underside of the lash, allow it to dry so it does not slide during application.

Hold one end of the lash with your fingertips and the other with a tweezer if your own hands are not too steady. Hold a hand mirror in your hand and look up (as if you have a nosebleed). Place the lash on top of your own lash line This we later discover to be great advice.it works!

For Andrea’s lips Smith stained them with a wine-coloured lip liner and a deep pink lipstick, then coated them with gloss. To get that really sexy pout, place lipstick on the tip of your thumb and turn thumb downwards on upper lip. Repeat on the lower lip. For a more muted look use a nude coloured lipstick.

To obtain further glow, bronzer was used on the cheeks.

Naturally Smith used her own special colours and labels but similar shades are available from Iman, Revlon or Fashion Fair.

Camille wears deep purple and pink. Pale pink is worn over the entire lid and a smoldering deep purple/charcoal at the outer ends of eyes. Use a lighter shade for highlighting from the brow bone to the eyelid.

Contouring is achieved by using a darker shade on the eyelid from the inner part of the eye to the outer area and then creating a V back to the inner. We loved how the model looked and by the time Smith further opened the eyes with two applications of black mascara to create super fluffy lashes and painted perfectly sexy lips by eschewing red opting instead for a muted shade (lips were outlined with a soft brown pencil) and clear lip gloss. Heavy gloss detracts from the smoldering eyes bringing attention to the lips.

Final Tip From The Pro: Don’t over do the make-up tomorrow night. Less is still more. Use Jergens shimmer lotion for the body.

So you’ve got the perfect face. Now what do you take to bed?

“As much as you want or as little as possible,” shares Kerry Clarke of Kerry’s boutique.

Judging from her Valentine’s collection it’s going to be “as little as possible.” But you’ll need a few props ladies. Tickle his fancy and yours too whilst you’re at it with a pink boa. Brush your boobs with an itsy-bitsy black tee and read him a few lines from Jenna Jameson’s How to.

Wear heels, sexy high heels, tomorrow night with red, silk or pink silk lingerie. Perfume dabbed in all the right places is also a must our night’s pick Calvin Klein’s Euphoria, L’occitane’s The´ Vert and Gucci’s eau de parfum.

Finally ladies in keeping with the fashion editorial we sought love-making techniques/suggestions from a few of our own local pros:

*From Cutie at Palais Royale… “Don’t be afraid to really hold your man and make love to him. Men like fantasy so whisper dirty thoughts in his ears. Men like to be bitten. not like Dracula though. Soft bites all over the body will turn him into a little teddy bear.”

*Dimples at Caesar’s Palace… “Some women act like them is too nice. De nicest of man dem want whores inna de bedroom. Be one on Valentine’s night. I guarantee you’ll get a Valentine’s gift and more.”

*Tiny at Shades in Ocho Rios. “Men are like little boys. Be his teacher or mother on Valentine’s night. If he doesn’t take telling.then spank him until he does.”

*Juanita from Taboo, The Gentleman’s Club. “Ladies your men are unhappy with the sex you’re giving them. be more adventurous. They need more oral sex too.”

*Names have been changed to safeguard the ladies. All Woman thanks them for their thoughts
