Just a boyfriend, or husband material?
ALTHOUGH this isn’t an exact science or anything even close to it, ladies, there are some signs you can look out for to tell if your boyfriend is a keeper, or is at least looking to keep you around a little longer. There are certain things men do, that if you analyse them correctly, it means that they are concerned about the future of the relationship, and are on their way to taking it to that next step. Here are seven of those things:
1. He remembers those insignificant anniversaries that you create, and tries to do something to celebrate them (every now and then).
You know how you women are, wanting to mark the first time we do everything as a couple, like the first date, the first kiss, the first time you ate breakfast at our houses… I don’t know why you ladies love those forgettable anniversaries, but if your boyfriend decides to mark a few of them and celebrate them, then that makes him a keeper.
2. He allows you to leave your stuff, no matter what it is, in his place.
When your boyfriend starts to let you leave anything, and I mean anything, of yours all over his place, without fear of his friends seeing it and teasing him relentlessly about it, then I would say he’s thinking very long-term for the relationship, and might be coming around to having you in his life permanently. This, however, is not an invitation for you to start stock-piling pantyhose and feminine products at the man’s home.
3. He stocks up on the things you like in his house.
Since he has to eat everyday, then if he has all the different kinds of food you like stocked in is house then it’s like guaranteeing that he, in a weird way, interacts with you (the food being representational of you, naturally).
And that is clearly saying he wants you around for a long time.
4.He’s completely, even brutally honest with you about his feelings for you.
We’ve all seen it before at the end of those romance movies. The guy gushes his heart out to the woman he is chasing (and more than likely made a big mistake with) and they seem to end up happily ever after. Well if he goes all the way to tell you he’ll love you forever, or give you the world or some other junk like that, then I would say he’s looking to stick around in the relationship.
5. He finally does one of the things you’ve been nagging him to do for the longest while.
Hopefully this means that he chose to acknowledge your input (and not someone else’s) in his life, and show you he is listening, which is totally for your benefit.
6. He, on several occasions, ditches his friends to hang out with you.
By several I mean just enough times to make you feel special, while not making him look whipped. If he goes out of his way to give you priority on any given day that he could have avoided doing so, that’s a good sign. If he does it on a regular basis then there’s no doubt where his feelings lay.
7. He introduces you to all the people of significance in his life.
This is a pretty obvious tell. A man is not going to introduce you as his girlfriend to all his friends, family and pretty much everyone he meets, unless he is willing to have you remembered as such in the future. So if he does that, then I’d say he is a keeper.
