Men confess: Most unmanly thing I’ve done for love
IN this era of the new man, normal male behaviour now includes crying while watching soap operas, visiting the spa twice monthly, and covering kitchen duties. Men are not exclusively fixated on lifting bricks, mowing the lawn or shifting and fixing pipes. In fact, many of them are now more in touch with their feminine side. And this even transfers to the love department, where many guys are indulging in previously unmanly acts in order to please their mates.
What are some of the most unmanly things guys have done for love?
Demar:
My wife, who was my fiancée at the time, was upset about my friends and me going on a Blue Mountain trip while she stayed home. By the time I got back she was so mad that she gave me the “don’t touch me” line. But God knows, I desperately needed to touch her. So I went into her drawer and wormed myself into her bra, set a wig on my head and donned one of her three-inch heels. When I hit that stereo and starting dancing and singing for her, she begged me for the touch.
Ryan:
I shave everywhere — pubic area, armpits, chest and eyebrows, the works. I like looking slick, and more than anything my girl hates body hair. I can keep a little for my facial outline but she hates that I am so hairy. To be honest, I am a lot cooler without it.
Troy:
I stole from my sister’s jewellery box and took some of the new clothes she shipped in from the US to keep my girl trendy and so that she wouldn’t leave me. I didn’t have anything else at the time to offer as I wasn’t working.
X:
I pee sitting. I don’t always remember to clean the seat, and especially because I am in a hurry I just avoid making my wife mad by leaving the seat down.
Leon:
I had to dress up as a princess — tiara, make-up and all — for a little sleepover the nine-year-old daughter of the woman I was dating at the time was having. They say if you love the cow you have to love the calf, and although it was emasculating, the child and my girl were happy. It was a great feeling for me. She thought I looked cute too.
Marcus:
My girlfriend has really bad allergies and my colognes affect her. Certain fragrances, vanilla in particular, are soothing to her. I have stopped using cologne altogether, because even after wearing my clothes at work all day the smell bothers her, so I’ve started using splashes. That way she will not sneeze herself almost to death.
Marlon:
I gossip with my girl. She doesn’t really keep friends, and whenever she hears anything she wants to talk about it with me and expects me to share my views and so on. The only uncomfortable part is when she expects me to tell her stuff and I can’t even remember what I had for lunch yesterday. But hey, at least I won’t have to part fights because of drama.
