Vows: #HappilyEverRae
Oxford
Service Centre manager and race car driver Sebastien Rae and marketing project officer Misha Haye are still on cloud nine after tying the knot on Saturday, April 8 on the beach at Laughing Waters in Ocho Rios.
Vows
introduces Mr and Mrs Sebastien Rae.
How they met…Misha and Sebastien met in 2011 at a New Year’s Eve party. Ironically, they both attended solo and were introduced to each other by their mutual friend Shaun Schroeter, who they later realised was the perfect matchmaker, having sent them photos of each other. Her plan actually worked as they both enjoyed themselves at the party and later exchanged numbers.“He would then constantly call to check up on me, ensuring I eat, got home safe from work and so on, until one day I asked him to stop calling,” shared Misha. “But after a week passed and not hearing from him I called him asking why I hadn’t heard from him. The rest is history.”In 2016, Sebastien took Misha on a trip to London, France and Spain, to meet his family. “His family was so welcoming, and that’s when we decided to really commit to each other and set the date for the wedding,” Misha shared.
The proposal…Sebastien proposed to Misha on Christmas morning 2013. “I woke up Christmas morning to see ‘Will You Marry Me’ written on the mirror in our room and a ring on the bed. Overcome with joy I said yes!” explained Misha.
The Ceremony …Friends and family filled the shores of Laughing Waters beach in Ocho Rios to witness the nuptials. The ceremony area was decorated with barrels; the aisles were lined with wooden love quotes and shepherd hooks with jars filled with daisies and baby’s breath. On the chairs were miniature Champagne bottles filled with bubbles for guests to send off the newly-weds.The bridesmaids made their way up the aisle to the strains of Bruno Mars’
Just The Way You Are, dressed in hot coral sweetheart neckline gowns from La Femme. They were escorted by the groomsmen who wore dark grey suits accented with coral ties from Spokes Apparel. It was an emotional moment for many as Wellesley Haye escorted his sister up the aisle to the song
All Of Me by John Legend. Misha was stunning in a Maggie Sottero Primrose gown from Bliss Bridal, with the belt and veil designed by her mother. Eagerly awaiting his bride at the altar stood a dapper Sebastien, dressed in a Dexter Huxtable dark grey suit and grey vest complemented by a coral bow tie. The nuptials, which featured a wine ceremony to symbolise unity, were officiated by Bishop Marvin Tracey.
Cocktail hour …Cocktails took place on the lawns of Laughing Waters, where guests sipped coconut water through gold straws and shared the moment using the hashtag #HappilyEverRae.Entertainment was provided by Silver Birds Steel Orchestra band.
The Reception …The team from Tailored Events brought their design artistry to the venue which they transformed into a beautiful space of coral and gold. The head table featured a LOVE seat with the letters L-O-V-E used at the base, upon which were placed tall vases of white hydrangea, coral roses and hanging petals. The newly-weds and members of their bridal party, guided by master of ceremonies Christopher “Johnny” Daley, made their entrance to Mark Ronson’s
Uptown Funk. Guests enjoyed dinner catered by award-winning chef Ravi Anne. Formalities followed and included the unveiling and cutting of the three-tiered vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream by Leanne Cooke, and copious toasts to the newly-weds. Another highlight was the couple’s first dance as husband and wife to Ed Sheeran’s
Thinking Out Loud.
The Honeymoon…The lovebirds honeymooned at Royalton Blue Waters, and will be heading to Argentina later in the year.
