Why she’s afraid to love

Committing heart and soul to someone else can be a journey to anxiety for some, depending on their life experiences. We asked several women to share what they fear most in their relationships, and this is what they had to say.

Candace:

For me it is love, because growing up I saw my mother loving my father and saw him cheat on her with one of her close friends. Seeing how that sent my mother into a crazy mindset where she had to be medicated, I just fear commitment because I don’t want to be hurt sacrificing my heart.

Abigail:

I fear trusting because in the past I have given my trust to men and I watched them betray me over and over again.  Trusting scares me to the core. I am currently engaged and believe me, it is hard.

LM:

I am fearful of being cheated on more than anything.

Jonelle:

I am scared of being loyal and then finding out my man is not loyal. That makes me afraid of giving my heart completely so even though I am in a committed relationship, I have one foot outside just in case.

JK:

Being cheated on would definitely ruin my mental state because of the type of woman I am. Even thinking about it sinks me deep into fear.
