5 things men look for in women
CERTAINLY, a woman’s physical appeal is one of the top things that men look for when choosing a partner. But, while the boobs and derrières will capture the eyes of many men, to capture their souls, relationship counsellor Wayne Powell said that there are a number of other qualities that men desire. He shares five of these:
Supportive of his goals and aspirations
If you are in search of a lifetime partner, their support will be most important to you. You must have heard the term that all successful men have supportive women behind them, and men have proven this time and again. A man needs to know that he has at least one person in his corner — his own cheerleader who has his best interests at heart and wants to see him do well.
A friend and confidante
He might not say it in so many words, but a man loves a woman who he can talk to about just about anything, and who he can share his burdens, reveal his secrets to, and explore the roots of his scars and flaws without being judged or scorned. If a woman can offer a man this kind of maturity, then he would have known that he found a soul mate. There are just some things that a man doesn’t share, even with his male best friend, no matter how great the ‘bromance’.
Respect and high regard for him as a man
A woman who strokes a man’s ego is, simply put, a gift from the gods. Men expect a certain level of respect, and this is very important to the optimal functioning of the male psyche. And, guess what? Stroking a man’s ego really isn’t hard, all you need to do is to allow him to feel like a man. So don’t ever degrade him, try to control him, or look down on him even if you are in a better financial or professional position than he is.
A sense of humour
A good laugh can go a long way in a man’s book. And no, this doesn’t mean that you need to go and recite Will Smith’s Fresh Prince of Bel-Air jokes because you know it will make him roll on the floor dying of laughter. It is quite easy — all that is really required is being able, as a couple, to make fun of each other and enjoy light jokes while getting to know your man so well that you know just the right stroke to put a smile on his face. This quality can lighten tense moments and further assist with intimacy in your relationship.
Decency and a sense of pride
A man might love a wild, raunchy, spontaneous woman, sometimes vulgar, even, considering it is in his bedroom. But one thing is sure, he does not want to have a beast of a woman whenever he is in public. There is nothing more appealing to a man than a woman who is clothed in beauty and pride. So very good mannerisms, being sexy but still classy, strong but not harsh, and even the ability to put others above self shows that you value what is just and fair.
