Under the global campaign theme #GiveToGain, we are reminded that giving must be intentional and purposeful, and it means investing the time, resources and knowledge that we have, into advancing other women, girls, and vulnerable groups. The takeaway is, when women thrive, we all rise.

Nicole Walfall-Wyatt: Architect of excellence and empowerment

For Nicole Walfall-Wyatt, leadership isn’t just about managing workflows; it’s about the enduring impact one leaves on others. As the vice-president of operations at Mayberry Investments Limited (MIL), she oversees the “backbone” of the organisation with a philosophy rooted in collaboration, solution-oriented thinking, and, most importantly, a deep commitment to developing her team.

Walfall-Wyatt’s career is a masterclass in professional evolution. She began her journey in the financial sector as a clerk in the current accounts department at NCB. Through discipline and a natural affinity for operational systems, she rose steadily through the ranks — from teller and supervisor to assistant manager and eventually manager during the high-stakes merger between DB&G and Scotiabank.

Her track record is marked by excellence, including being named a “Best of the Best” recipient at Scotiabank, a recognition that took her on an all-expense paid trip to Mexico and solidified her reputation as a high-performer. Before joining MIL, she further honed her expertise at VMWealth as manager of Group Treasury Operations & Payments, and held a consultant role at Cornerstone/Barita.

What truly sets Walfall-Wyatt apart as an International Women’s Day inspiration is the deep-rooted respect she commands from the women she has led, as well as colleagues. In a recent reflection, she shared that women she supervised early in her career — who are now leaders in their own right — still affectionately refer to her as “Supervisor” or “Manager” when they speak. This enduring title is a testament to the mentorship and leadership impact she had on them as young professionals.

At MIL, her vision is to transform the operations department into the “department of choice” by creating a flexible, highly trained team equipped with the latest automations and straight-through processing. She believes in empowering her team members to serve both internal and external clients with efficiency, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to excel.

Walfall-Wyatt’s heart for empowerment extends far beyond the office walls. She is a dedicated volunteer and community advocate, currently serving as the treasurer for the HEAVENSENT Foundation. In this role, she actively contributes to the foundation’s mentorship programme at St Jude’s Primary, helping to guide and inspire young children to see a world of possibility.

Whether spearheading MIL’s hurricane relief efforts in St Elizabeth or leading annual charity treats for children’s homes, Walfall-Wyatt remains “rooted in purpose and driven by service”.

Despite her many accomplishments, she remains grounded. She finds joy in simple pleasures — like quiet road trips to visit family — that balance the demanding nature of her professional life.
