Jamrock Jeeps journey across Jamaica
JEEP owners looking to live the active lifestyle associated with the brand can indulge in such experiences with Jamrock Jeeps, a new group looking to share the love of everything Jeep.
“Jeeps are just fun vehicles, but we know that not every owner is into the Jeep life, our group is centred on activities,” Mark Anthony, Jamrock Jeep member, explained to the Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.
Anthony, a fashion designer and Jeep Wrangler owner for three years now, finally made the plunge into ownership after a fortuitous conversation with a client who was also a Jeep owner. However, his interest didn’t begin there.
“The Jeep Wrangler was one of my favourite vehicles from I was a child. I’m originally from Trelawny, and I was always amazed by its go anywhere abilities,” Anthony said.
With his Jeep ownership came the comradery from fellow enthusiast of the brand and he’s been sharing his passion with the Jamrock Jeep group, which was founded in 2017. While not yet a formal group, Anthony said members are working on putting in the framework to become so.
“Currently we just try to go a different venue every month, because Jamaica has so much to offer,” he said.
April saw 11 Jeep owners, including Anthony, heading out to Lyssons Beach, St Thomas, for a day of activities.
“We normally have about 14 to 15 Jeeps in convoy to various locations around the island. Once we’re there we do everything from playing games to cooking,” he added.
For May, the aim is Portland. Anthony refers to the group’s social media channels for those interested in joining the Jeep lifestyle.
