Molynes United sack coach Thomas
Observer Online has learnt that Jermaine Thomas has been sacked by Molynes United following a 1-2 loss to Mount Pleasant on Monday.
It was Molynes’ sixth defeat from eight games this season which saw them lurking just above the relegation zone in 12th spot on six points.
With only two wins, the management team has seen enough, according to Observer sources.
Thomas took charge of Molynes during the 2023–24 season after Alex Thomas was removed. He subsequently guided the club through difficult periods, including relegation battles, but sources said the management has lost confidence in him this season.
Thomas has made a name for himself leading McGrath High to prominence in schoolboy football in recemt times. McGrath reached the daCosta Cup semi-finals in 2019 and finals in 2024, losing to Garvey Maceo on penalties.
He also led McGrath to the 2023 Ben Francis title, his best achievement to date.
Previously he coached at Rivoli United, Federal United, Mico Colllege University and was a member of the Reggae Girlz coaching staff in 2023 for two games.
