Business Notes — October 5, 2022

September Performance

FirstRock Real Estate Investments Limited (USD shares) was the best-performing stock in September as it rose by 71 per cent from US$0.04 to US$0.0682. CAC 2000 Limited, Main Event Entertainment Group Limited, Portland JSX Limited, Barita Investments Limited, TransJamaican Highway Limited (USD shares), Sygnus Credit Investments Limited (SCIJMD — USD shares) and FirstRock Real Estate Investments Limited (JMD shares) were the best-performing stocks in September.

iCreate Limited was the worst-performing stock in September as it declined by 43 per cent from $4.24 to $2.40. Sygnus Credit Investments Limited (USD shares), Everything Fresh Limited, tTech Limited, Cargo Handlers Limited, Margaritaville (Turks) Limited (JMD shares), Mayberry Investments Limited, and Palace Amusement (1921) Company Limited were the other worst-performing stocks in September.

FosRich Company Limited is the best-performing stock year-to-date as it remains up 356 per cent from $0.91 to $4.13. MFS Capital Partners Limited, iCreate, Stationery and Office Supplies Limited, Consolidated Bakeries (Jamaica) Limited, Tropical Battery Company Limited, Main Event Entertainment Group Limited, and Future Energy Source Company Limited are the other stocks showing good year-to-date performances.

ISP Finance Limited is the worst-performing stock so far in 2022, with the stock down from $38 at the start of the year to $19.18 at the end of September. tTech, Sygnus Real Estate Finance Limited (JMD shares), Salada Foods Jamaica Limited, Mailpac Group Limited, Palace, NCB Financial Group Limited, and MPC Caribbean Clean Energy Limited (JMD shares) are the other stocks showing big declines year-to-date.

Executive and Director Changes

Deveta McLaren has been appointed the chief strategy officer of Dolla Financial Services Limited effective October 3.

Ian Chinapoo has been appointed as a director to the boards of Guardian Asset Management and Investment Services Limited and Guardian Holdings Limited effective October 1.

Katherine PC Francis was appointed to the board of Main Event Entertainment Group Limited effective September 27.

Julian Mair was re-elected chairman of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Limited while Steven Whittingham was elected as the new deputy chairman on September 29. Whittingham replaces Livingstone Morrison in the position.

Market Sales and Events

A connected party of Mayberry Investments Limited purchased 78,243 shares on September 16 while another connected party purchased 194,536 shares for a consideration of $1.46 million on September 27. A connected party of Mayberry Jamaican Equities Limited purchased 82,060 shares on September 15 while another connected party purchased 2,000 shares on September 21. A connected party of Massy Holdings Limited purchased 143,830 shares on September 20 while another connected party purchased 68,759 shares on September 21 on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange. A senior manager of Honey Bun (1982) Limited purchased 8,629 shares on September 30. The trustee of the Sagicor Life Jamaica employee share purchase plan sold 2,500 shares of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (SJ) on September 21 and 4,000 shares on September 27. A Sagicor Group executive sold 171,076 shares for a consideration of $8.77 million while another executive sold 135,924 shares for a consideration of $6.87 million on September 21. A director of Future Energy Source Company Limited sold 10,083,684 units for a consideration of $58.08 million between September 28 and 29.

A connected party of JMMB Group Limited sold 244,755 for a consideration of $9.79 million on September 28. A connected party of PanJam Investments Limited purchased 3,000 shares on September 28. A connected party of Supreme Ventures Limited sold 4,430,367 shares at $29 for a consideration of $128.48 million on September 23 while a related entity purchased 389,216 shares for a consideration of $11.68 million on September 26. A connected party of IronRock Insurance Company Limited sold 280 shares on September 27. A connected party of Kingston Wharves Limited sold 268 shares on September 19.

Main Event Entertainment Group Limited has declared a dividend of $0.10 to be paid on October 25 to shareholders on record as of October 11. This payment totals $30 million.

TransJamaican Highway Limited has declared a dividend of $0.0855 to be paid on October 25 to shareholders on record as of October 14. This payment totals $1.07 billion.

Barita Investments Limited has declared a dividend of $2.48 to be paid on November 18 to shareholders on record as of October 18. This payment totals $3.03 billion.

Kingston Properties Limited will consider a dividend payment at its board meeting on October 13.
