August Traffic Report
Sangster International Airport (SIA) is reporting a 38 per cent year-over-year growth to 405,800 terminal passengers for August. This performance is above the April 2019 figures of 401,500 passengers. Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) recorded a 90 per cent increase in air traffic to 184,800 passengers for August. SIA’s year-to-date traffic of 2.93 million passengers is 86 per cent higher than the 1.57 million passengers in January – August 2021, while NMIA had a 101 per cent increase in year-to-date traffic of 992,100 passengers.
Executive and Director Changes
Mary Anne Chambers has retired from the board of directors for GraceKennedy Financial Group Limited and GraceKennedy Limited, effective August 8. She also retired from GraceKennedy’s audit and corporate governance and nomination committees. She will continue to chair the board of Grace Foods Canada, Inc.
Nichole Case and Ashley-Ann Foster Horne were appointed as directors of the board of Key Insurance Company Limited at a meeting on September 7.
Dennis Chung has resigned as chief executive officer of Supreme Ventures Services Limited, effective October 31. He will remain a director of Supreme Ventures Limited subsidiaries Supreme Ventures Racing & Entertainment Limited and McKayla Financial Services Limited.
Todd Stromme has resigned as chief executive officer of Caribbean Producers (Jamaica) Limited, effective September 5, after being appointed to the role on June 1. Founder and Executive Chairman Anthony Mark Hart has assumed the interim CEO role until further notice.
Trinidadian Raoul Glynn will be resigning his role as managing director of Carreras Limited, effective September 30, as he assumes the managing director role at West Indian Tobacco Company Limited (WITCO) in Trinidad and Tobago, effective October 1. Glynn will remain on the Carreras board as a non-executive director to fill the vacancy created by the departure of former WITCO Managing Director Laurent Meffre, who will retire from the board on September 30 as he takes up other responsibilities within parent company British American Tobacco plc (BAT). Franklin Murillo will assume the role of managing director of Carreras on October 1, subject to regulatory approvals.

A director of Jamaican Teas Limited sold 823,637 shares at $2.70 for a consideration of $2.22 million on September 1. An executive of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (SJ) sold 185,200 shares at $54 for a consideration of $10 million on September 2. An SJ executive sold 10,000 shares on September 5 while another executive sold 35,000 shares at $50 for a consideration of $1.75 million on August 24. A connected party of Kingston Wharves Limited sold 32,401 shares between August 31 to September 5 and on September 8. A connected party of PanJam Investments Limited purchased 500 shares on September 7. A director of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Limited purchased 3,000 shares on August 29 while another director sold 24,534 shares on September 6. A senior manager of Dolla Financial Services Limited purchased 21,299 shares on August 15. JMMB’s Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP) sold 30,000 JMMB Group Limited ordinary shares at $41.50 for a consideration of $1.25 million. Community & Workers of Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union Limited repurchased 3,314 shares on August 12 and 29.
Barita Investments Limited will acquire up to 10 million ordinary shares from the market, under the Employee Stock Ownership Plan, from September 6 to October 14.
Seprod Limited has declared a dividend of $0.50 to be paid on October 12 to shareholders on record as of September 30. This payment totals $366.77 million.
Jamaica Broilers Group Limited will consider a dividend at its board meeting on September 28.
