Interior Decorating and Designing For The Present and The Future

We’ve all just spent the better part of the last two-and-a half years at home. Most of us either fell in love with our homes, or out of love with them. Suddenly the once-perfect home started to show its age or started to feel more like a closet closing in on us, rather than a sanctuary of respite.

As an interior decorator, I often get asked the question “where do I begin?” or hear clients express that they cannot envision the space. With a trained eye this “vision” comes with experience, but for the homeowner it is all too daunting. As we embrace the use of more and more technology in our everyday lives, so too as an industry we have evolved to use technology such as three-dimensional renderings and other software tools to demystify and aid our clients in the visual process. Using technology we now can generate life-like representations of our clients’ dreams. Just imagine a true to life replica of your space all with the click of a button straight to your inbox. Using this tool we can tweak any aspect of your vision, even the tiniest detail, until we arrive at something that suits you perfectly.

The future of design and the merging of technology doesn’t end with the design process. Smart homes that are intuitive to the needs of the occupants, featuring presets for your lighting, security, music and even your morning coffee, are here. As we embrace technology in the virtual world, we also seek to embrace it to improve the quality of life and convenience in the home.

The future is here, let us design today for what we need tomorrow.
