Flow Jamaica expands emergency connectivity with Starlink
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Liberty Caribbean, parent company of Flow Jamaica, has announced the deployment of its emergency communication solution powered by Starlink which is intended to strengthen network resilience across the island.
In a news release, Flow said the service is now available to 70 per cent of its mobile data customers in Jamaica.
The integration of Starlink’s satellite technology enables Flow customers to stay connected through an advanced, high-speed mobile data network under the name “FLOW STARLINK,” the release stated.
According to the release, customers can activate the service by enabling VoLTE (Voice over LTE) on their devices using the following steps:
How to Activate “FLOW STARLINK”
For Android Devices
Open your Settings app and tap on Network & Internet or Connections.
Tap on Mobile Network. If you have a dual-SIM phone, select your SIM card first.
Toggle the VoLTE calls or Enhanced 4G LTE Mode switch to the “on” position.
Your “FLOW STARLINK” network will be active.
For iPhone Devices
Open the Settings app and tap on Cellular.
Tap on Cellular Data Options.
Select Voice & Data and choose LTE, VoLTE On.
Your “FLOW STARLINK” network will be active.
For iPhones with iOS 17 and later, VoLTE is enabled by default and this setting is no longer visible.
