Mediation rejected in simple larceny case, accused to return to court
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man has been ordered to return to court after the complainant rejected an opportunity for mediation in a larceny case on Tuesday.
Raheim Tollo, charged with simple larceny, appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court. He is accused of stealing a large quantity of alcohol, beverages and meat from a wholesale shop.
When Tollo appeared in court on Tuesday, the prosecution noted that he had made some restitution and that mediation had been proposed at a previous court date in July.
Also in court on Tuesday was the wholesale owner, the complainant and several other witnesses who had reportedly been instructed to attend in anticipation of mediation.
However, the owner of the establishment told the court he was not willing to participate in mediation.
Raw CCTV footage of the incident was also presented during the session.
Tollo is scheduled to return to court on February 3, 2026.
