Kiwanis Club of Global Alliance hosts health and dental fair in Trench Town
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kiwanis Club of Global Alliance carried out its first major community initiative recently, hosting a health and dental fair at the Trench Town Community Centre.
The club, which was chartered in February with members across Jamaica, the Bahamas, the United Kingdom and the United States, partnered with Sunrise Health and Rehabilitation from Florida for the event.
Other participating groups included Kino Life, the Dream Team, ZABA Clinic and JFCforyou.
More than 150 residents received free medical and wellness services, including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and diabetes checks, as well as pediatric and family medicine consultations. The Jamaica Society for the Blind screened 45 people, identifying 25 who will require further eye care. Dental services were also offered, with 42 patients treated and several scheduled for follow-up visits.
ZABA Clinic introduced mental health and autism-support services, with 14 children set to receive free developmental assessments and therapy.

Club president Edward Wong said the initiative highlighted the value of community partnerships and noted that the organisation plans to undertake additional projects locally and internationally.
