El Duvell banks on Seduction to get mainstream
EMERGING deejay El Duvell has broken the ice to his musical career with the release of his début EP Seduction.
“The feedback is good so far. Fans are grooving to the mixture, plus a music video has been released for one of the singles — Barbie — on my YouTube platform,” El Duvell told the Jamaica Observer.
Produced by Truefriends Music, the six-track project was released on March 31.
The entertainer, whose given name is Fernandez Brooks, hails from Thompson Pen in Spanish Town, St Catherine, but grew up in Highgate, St Mary.
With a style of music that encompasses various genres, the artiste brings together vibes and puns with catchy melodies over predominantly dancehall or reggae sounds.
He’s hopeful that this EP will push his career forward.
“My hope is that this project can propel me into the mainstream of dancehall. I want to put my talent out there to the world,” he said.
El Duvell further noted that he is eyeing collaborations with a few seasoned dancehall acts.
“I would like to collab with Aidonia [because] he has been one of my mentors from a longer time, plus Capleton, Bounty Killer, Jr Gong, Vybz Kartel, and Suga Roy. I like the vibes and messages these artistes bring to the music,” he explained.
In the meantime, the deejay has a busy year ahead of him with new projects and performances.
“Fans can look for more music and videos and stage performances islandwide from El Duvell, plus a tour is on the way. [I’m] just living my motto right now: ‘Work, pray and trust in the process.'”
