While growing up in Crawle River district in Clarendon, Jah Lama experienced a number of adversities. He has, however, managed to overcome those difficult times and shares those experiences on his début EP titled Fight the Fight.

An eight-song project, produced by Pandemic Records, Fight the Fight is scheduled for release this Friday December 15. The release will coincide with a live showcase in his home town of Chapelton at the Stafton Block Factory and will feature performances from a number of established acts from the entertainment fraternity.

“Growing in the country in an environment where yuh never born rich, you face a lot of struggles in life because of your economic situation. Even within the music I experienced a lot of struggles until I started working with Sheldon Edwards and Rodrick Blair. I have to give thanks to Pandemic Records for taking interest in my career. With Pandemic Records I know the sky is the limit because they are doing everything to push my career forward,” Jah Lama shared in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.

He said Fight the Fight took six months to complete. It comprises new material as well as previously released songs.

The tracks include Progress, the title track, Pouring Rain, Burn Dem Down featuring Turbulence, Go Hard, Ride with Me, Cya Stop, and High.

Jah Lama, whose real name is Miguel Allen, made his recording début in 2021 with the song Smile, which was produced by Marshaye Music.

“Music is something that I have always wanted to do. It’s always been an interest from when I was a little youth and I am very passionate about it,” he disclosed.

Following the launch of Fight the Fight, a stage show of the same name, featuring Bounty Killer, Jeff Fullyauto, Little Hero, and several others, will take place.

The artiste has encouraged his fans to continue to expect good work from him in 2024.
