Gospel recording artiste Jai Kingston, who released his most recent album HisVoice Save Me earlier this year, is looking forward to his performance at Genesis 2024.

Genesis 2024 (Kingston) will take place on Monday, January 1, at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.

“Genesis is one of those events that you bring your A-game. People can look forward to having a wonderful time while singing praises and showing reverence to the creator,” Jai Kingston said in an interview at the event’s launch Tuesday evening at the offices of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, downtown Kingston.

Said Jai Kingston: “What I enjoy most about performing at an event like Genesis is the participation of the people, the wonderful ministers, and the audience just being engaged by all that’s going on.”

Kemar Guyah, event coordinator, Jamaica Youth For Christ, organisers of Genesis, said: “Genesis brings that vibe, that energy, that worship, that praise and it’s a positive environment. Last year was really awesome and we got a lot of commendations from members of the public. It’s all about fun, fellowship, and starting the new year right.”

The event marks 30 years in 2024.

“We are going strong after 30 years and we give God thanks for sustaining us. I believe our objectives have been achieved and one of my greatest desires is to see people coming together in a positive environment in fellowship,” said Guyah.

Genesis (Kingston) will feature gospel artiste Marvia Providence of Hear My Cry Oh Lord fame, making a return to the event after several years. Also on the line-up are Rhoda Isabella, Rondell Positive, Johnmark Wiggan, Rian Davis, Goddy Goddy, Lucas Musiq, Orville Sutherland, among others.

Genesis (Montego Bay) is scheduled for December 31 at Montego Bay Community College.
