Ras Slick looking to connect with Afro-inspired sound
Internationally acclaimed recording artiste Ras Slick is on the promotional trail for his Afro-infused track Your Body. Officially released on September 8, the track was produced by Ras Slick and DANNYEBTRACKS.
“I want women to know their bodies are naturally beautiful and perfect, and you should love the body you have,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
So far, he is pleased with the responses from listeners and disc jockeys alike.
Known for his unique lyrical word play and distinctive voice, the versatile crooner added, “I wanted to try something different with this song and step out of my comfort zone to see how fans enjoy the sound and it connected.”
Your Body is an upbeat, feel-good follow-up to Ras Slick’s One More Chance, which was the singer’s 2021 pandemic release.
The singer further said that Your Body is the perfect song to lively up listeners through the holiday season and beyond.
“This song is definitely on its way to become a big hit, but overall I am just happy for the love,” he added.
Wrapping up the Baltimore leg of his ‘Forever Giving Thanks’ tour, the artiste ignited the stage of Jamaica Fest, where he reunited with Beres Hammond for an electrifying performance.
He has also performed at Carifesta, Linganore Reggae Wine Fest, and the GraceKennedy Jamaican Jerk Festival.
“I was very happy to be able to share the stage with Beres Hammond and do what we love best, which is serenading the audience and we were so very well received,” he said.
The singer recently launched the inaugural ‘Dutty Fest’, an outdoor event celebrating the ‘earthstrong’ of the Dutty Bus Crew bass man Dwayne Clunie.
