Real Estate gaining ground
Dancehall artistes Skillibeng, Valiant and Kraff’s collaboration Real Estate has connected with a wide audience three weeks after its release.
The song has garnered over one million views on YouTube and was trending at number 21 up to Monday.
Producers Digi Doran and Gutty Bling are basking in the success.
“The song is about real estate investing and building wealth,” Digi Doran, principal of Digital Productionz told the Jamaica Observer.
“We are hoping the project inspire the youths to build a foundation and invest in their futures,” he continued.
This was the first time Digi Doran (given name Jake Doran) and Gutty Bling (given name Hugh Ho-Young) have teamed up.
Digi Doran shared how he and the co-producer were able to get three of the genre’s most popular artistes on one track.
“I reached out to Valiant and Kraff through past connections. Gutty Bling and Skilli have a long history with songs like Brick Pon Brick, 50 Bag, and Bin Laden,” he said.
Some of Digi Doran’s previous releases include Jahvillani’s Made In Jamaica, Teejay’s Make It Out, and Silk Boss’s Trust.
Meanwhile, Gutty Bling, who has been operating Claims Records for over a decade, pointed out that Real Estate has been widely shared on popular social media platforms.
“The feedback has been great. It’s trending on TikTok with construction and house building. The song is playing all over from Boom Sundays to the [United] States and Japan,” he told the Observer.
With both producers agreeing that their creative processes start with organically creating beats and finding complementary artistes for each one, they revealed that there are more projects in the works with LaaLee as well as Afrobeat tracks.m
