Ribbiz Reserve Wnzdz summer series a hit

Upon entering Ribbiz Ultra Lounge on Ardenne Road, Wednesday night, the parking told the story of the full house for the second week of Ribbiz Reserve Wnzdz.

The summer series, which started on June 7, is fast becoming a weekly entertainment spot for tertiary students as well as young professionals.

With DJs Matt Camps and Stepho in control of the musical delights, patrons danced up a storm and partied until 3:00 am.

Sandre Malcolm is the promoter of the series which is powered by Campus Elite Ja.

“The series came about from a conversation between Kamal Bankay [a director of Ribbiz Ultra Lounge] and myself. The Ribbiz team was looking for a new event to fill out their week and Campus Elite was seeking an activity to engage university students during the summer period. And Ribbiz was the perfect fit for our aspirational collegiate lifestyle brand,” Malcolm stated in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.

He said that the response to the series has far exceeded expectations.

“The response has been tremendous. The first staging was a full house and then tonight garnered an even larger turnout than the first one.”

He continued: “The highlight, for me, was the great musical selections from our DJs. Another highlight was the dancers that took over the dance floor doing all the latest dance routines. As you can see, everyone really enjoyed that.”

Asked what the event is bringing to nightlife in Kingston, Malcolm said: “We are bringing vibrant nonstop energy that only young people can provide. The energy and vibe of the series is something party lovers should experience.”

Keifa Desnoes, a recent university graduate who is now an event’s promoter, was among the throng of patrons in attendance at Ribbiz Reserve Wnzdz.

“The vibe was really good; the music was good. Shout out to the DJs for putting in good sets,” said Desnoes.

He added: “Coming to the event felt like a no-brainer after seeing how well the first week was. I loved the energy, and everyone was enjoying themselves, no one looked bored. The music was hitting the right spots and the summer hits were rolling out. Overall, I would say it was a complete event.”

DJ Matt Camps also gave the event the thumbs up.

“It was a good balance of music, and we did well to keep people there until early Thursday morning. Vibes-wise, it was good,” he disclosed.

DJ Stepho, who made his debut at the event, said: “The crowd was going wild, and when it shifted to dancehall and I started to play, everybody was enjoying themselves. I really enjoyed playing here tonight.”
