Rytikal in car crash
DANCEHALL deejay Rytikal escaped serious injury after the Toyota Axio car he was travelling in overturned on the north-south leg of Highway 2000 on Saturday morning.
The incident was confirmed by his road manager, Bryson Blanchette.
“The accident took place about 5:02 am on the north-south highway toll. A car was parked in the left lane, on the corner [and] we [his entourage] were driving in four cars. My car was leading, his car [was] following behind. On seeing the parked car, I swing to avoid a collision and Rytikal driver swing but hit the median and get out of control, so the car turn over on the right side,” he told the Jamaica Observer hours after the incident happened.
A total of three passengers were in the Toyota Axio.
The matter was reported to the police.
The entertainer — whose given name is Rohan McFarlane — was returning from a show at Muschett High School in Trelawny.
Blanchette took the time to reiterate that the deejay is in good shape.
“Just want his fans to know that he’s safe, along with his driver, and he will continue to make positive music,” he said.
It was just in February when Rytikal was freed of firearm charges in a January 2021 incident. He was slapped with the charge after he was reportedly seen acting suspiciously while police were on patrol in Bull Bay, St Andrew.
Police reportedly questioned the artiste and, following a search of his car, a Taurus .380 pistol with 12 rounds of ammunition were found.
Rytikal reportedly told the police that the weapon was a prop for a music video, however, he was taken into custody and later charged.
The 25-year-old is known for tracks such as Chosen, King Inna War, Living and Cookie Jar.
