Xyclone’s Game 7 tops Amazon and iTunes album charts
Last week, Game 7, the latest album by dancehall artiste Xyclone, topped both the Amazon and iTunes Reggae Albums charts.
The 10-track project, released on July 14, was executively produced by Roje Robinson.
It features production work from KillaImij Records, SG Records, Jas Col Records, ASG Records, Levels to Life Production, and Drae Master Productions.
“The response since the album was released has been great. This is my tenth album and my ninth straight number one on iTunes,” Xyclone shared in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.
Game 7, he said, was inspired by sports.
“Game 7 are the two greatest words in sports. A do or die game. Win and collect the trophy or lose and go home a loser. There’s nothing greater than a game 7 victory when everything is on the line and you come out victorious,” Xyclone disclosed.
He said that since the album gaining traction promoters have been reaching out wanting to arrange performance opportunities.
“Promoters have approached me from Europe and South America. I haven’t been to Europe since 2019 and South America since 2018,” said Xyclone.
Game 7 is the follow up to Xyclone’s EP God and Time. Among the tracks featured are Dream Chasing, Biggest Downfall, Spaceship (with Ding Dong), Looking For Her, Turn the Party Up, Waste Energy, and Mad Dem.
Xyclone’s last Billboard charting album Sounds of South America peaked at #9 in 2021.
