Usain Bolt Tracks and Records (Part 2)
Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards judge Kadean Vendryes returns to Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records for a follow up review.
I started my food reviews at the Marketplace a couple months ago in April, at Usain Bolt Tracks and Records, with dessert only and was overdue this second visit to do a full review.

Last week, as game four of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs approached, and I was hosting my uncle Wayne Christie from New York, who had just flown in earlier the same day, I thought to myself what better place to watch the game. And what a historic game it was! My team, the New York Knicks won game four, after overcoming a 29-point deficit to beat San Antonio Spurs 107-106 and took a 3-1 series lead.

The icing on the cake for me was to be watching the New York Knicks captain and 2026 NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, who is of Jamaican descent, rescue his team from the depths of NBA hell after 53 years, at a restaurant and sports bar named after our own Usain Bolt – the fastest man in the world.
As customary, I was immediately greeted and seated by a hostess upon entry. The place was crowded but I was just in the ‘Knick’ of time to get a table on the ground floor. Our server, Simone Allen, was introduced to us by the hostess and the menus presented. Simone was very pleasant and calm amidst the buzz of the game. She took our orders without making notes and that was impressive. The orders were delivered quite quickly and the temperatures spot on. Simone checked in several times throughout the visit, to see if we wanted anything from the menu.
We had an island salad, cod fish fritters, Red Stripe BBQ Wings accompanied by hardo bread, festival and fries. For drinks, I had water and my uncle enjoyed a cold Red Stripe Light Melon Beer. He wanted Sorrel Beer, but it was out of stock. Everything was well-done (10/10), perfectly flavoured, the vegetables in the salad were fresh, crunchy and the dressings for the wings, fritters, and salad all paired well.
Usain Bolt Tracks and Records is the place to be this summer to enjoy your favourite meals and drinks while watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup and other major international sporting events. There is no shortage of viewing options which range from a giant 20-foot-wide projector screen, over 45 flat screen televisions and numerous interactive tables/booths with touch screens where you can split the display, place orders and play games.
