French-born, US-based jockey Julien Leparoux is hoping to make a significant impact on the prestigious Mouttet Mile race day at Caymanas Park this Saturday. Known for his skilful riding and impressive track record, Leparoux has secured eight rides on the highly anticipated 11-race card.

At 40 years old, Leparoux, who will be riding in Jamaica for the first time, expressed his enthusiasm for having a memorable day at the races and aims to secure victories in as many races as possible on Saturday.

“I am looking forward to riding in Jamaica because I have been watching races in Jamaica and researching about them. I am eager to have a fulfilling day at the races, and I am excited to be there,” said Leparoux. “Hopefully, I can make a great entry into the races because it’s a very big race day, and I want to win some races. I am also bringing my family with me, and we are all looking forward to having a great time in Jamaica.”

Based in Kentucky, Leparoux is set to partner with the US-based horse Rough Entry in Saturday’s Mouttet Mile race. He noted that after watching replays of Rough Entry running at Gulfstream, he believes the horse can deliver a strong performance on Saturday.

“I have been watching replays of him running at Gulfstream, and it looks to me like he has been running a little short of distance, so he can stretch out on Saturday and put on a good performance,” he said.

“It is going to be great competition, and may the best horse win.” Eager to make his mark, Leparoux expressed his enthusiasm about the opportunity to compete in such a high-profile event. With eight rides scheduled for the Mouttet Mile race day, the accomplished jockey is prepared for a day of intense competition and thrilling horse racing action.

“I want to win, and I know that the other riders also want to win, so it should be a very exciting day of racing for everyone, and I am really looking forward to it,” he said.
