10-man Humble Lion beat Dunbeholden in JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Ten-man Humble Lion came from a goal down to beat Tivoli Gardens 2-1 at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Monday and jumped into fifth place in the points tables of the Jamaica Premier League.
Humble Lion, who had won their first-round meeting 1-0, snapped a four games winless run and improved to 33 points, one more than Waterhouse who played out a 0-0 draw with Dunbeholden in the second game of the doubleheader, a repeat of the first round scoreline.
The loss kept Tivoli Gardens in 11th place on 19 points.
Shamarie Dallas gave Tivoli Gardens the lead after 23 minutes, but Alton Lewis equalised for Humble Lion in the 33rd minute as they went to the halftime break tied at 1-1.
Humble Lion was reduced to 10 players in the 60th minute when Andrew Vanzie was sent off but that did not slow down the Clarendon team as Levaughn Williams scored the winner in the 76th minute.
