Accused cop killer arrested
KINGSTON, Jamaica— The man who is accused of killing police constable Brian Martin has been arrested and charged.
Charged is 20-year-old Jermaine Hamilton, otherwise called ‘Alex’, of a Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 13 address.
He has been charged with murder, four counts of wounding with intent and illegal possession of firearm.
Reports are that men armed with M16 rifles entered a premises where a wake was being held and opened gunfire hitting four people, including a child.
The victims were rushed to hospital where Constable Martin, who was shot in the face, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, and the other people were admitted.

Hamilton was apprehended on Monday, October 17 and was later pointed out on an identification parade and charged.
His co-accused, Kevin Ruddock, otherwise called ‘Haji’, was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police on Friday, October 28.
