Assault rifle seized in Mountain View
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Police seized an assault rifle on Mountain View Avenue in Kingston on Tuesday.
The seizure occurred during a joint police/military operation between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. However, no arrest has been made in connection to the find.
According to reports, the black M4 A1 assault rifle was found wrapped in a white sheet with a magazine affixed loaded with 10 rounds 5.56-millimetre cartridges. The firearm was also fitted with a telescopic sight and laser lights. Other items found were a red, white and green sock marked “LIVERPOOL” containing an additional 46 rounds of 5.56-millimetre cartridges.
The search also yielded two black and white knee pads, one black bullet proof vest, one black inside pistol holster, four black rifle slings, one bottle of gun oil and a Jamaican passport bearing the name Roxroy Steven Manning.
