Tru-Juice FC climb to top of Zone A with 4-0 win over JDF

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Tru-Juice Football Club (FC) moved to the top of Zone A in the Jamaica Football Championships over the weekend, after a 4-0 victory over Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) as the return got underway.

It marked Tru-Juice’s second win over the newcomers this season, having previously secured a narrow 1-0 result in the first round. The latest triumph lifts them to 21 points, one ahead of Sakka Club Browns Town, who played out a 1-1 draw with Lime Hall Academy in their St Ann derby.

Lamard Neil gave Tru-Juice the lead early, finding the net in the third minute. Tru-Juice doubled their advantage in the 28th minute thanks to an own goal from Sheldon Ragbeer. Curtel Lawes scored the third goal in time added at the end of the first half before Anton Rhule added the fourth in the 75th minute.

Meanwhile, Sakka Club Browns Town held on to second place despite getting only a point after Maurice Mitchell gave them the lead in the 76th minute before Javari Mitchell responded two minutes later with a goal for Lime Hall.

St Elizabeth Technical High School Elite Football Association (FA) ended Falmouth United’s four games winning run, edging them 1-0 in Santa Cruz on Sunday, with Justin McPherson scoring the game’s only goal in the 87th minute.

Zone B leaders Humble Lion FC and Duncans FC played to a 1-1 draw, for the second time this season, at Effortville Community Centre. Shawn Campbell gave Humble Lion the lead in the 79th minute before Devonti Hodges earned a point for his team, when he scored in the 85th minute.
