Biker charged with gun crime in Westmoreland
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A businessman was charged with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition following an incident in Westmoreland on Wednesday, March 15.
Charged is 33-year-old Alkeino Maragh of Tollgate, Frome in Westmoreland.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that about 2:29 pm, lawmen were on patrol in the area when Maragh was seen driving a motorcycle and signalled to stop.
He reportedly disobeyed the cops and sped off into a yard. He was pursued and was reportedly seen removing – one Taurus 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing eleven 9mm rounds from his waistband.
Maragh was subsequently arrested and charged.
