KINGSTON, Jamaica – A hat-trick by Shaniel Thomas propelled Cavalier to a 3-0 win over Moca FC of the Dominican Republic at Sabina Park on Tuesday as they took a giant step towards the semi-finals of the Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship.

Thomas, the former Jamaica College star, netted in the 24th, 58th and 77th minutes from the penalty spot.

Cavalier with their second victory from three games moved to seven points and sits atop of the five-team group with one game remaining.

The Rudolph Spied-coached team is set to play against the pointless Golden Lions of Martinique, who were in action against Port of Spain of Trinidad and Tobago at Hasely Crawford Stadium.

It was a relatively easy win for the Jamaican team after soaking up the early pressure from Moca.

Once Cavalier went ahead, they took control and never looked back, cruising to victory in front of a small gathering.
