Construction worker charged for allegedly firing gun at man in Kingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica – A construction worker was slapped with gun charges after he allegedly pulled a handgun and fired it at another man on Glen Drive, Kingston 8 in January.

Charged with shooting with intent, possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition is Oneil Wilson, 20, otherwise called ‘Diego’ and ‘Dandan’ of Quarry Hill, Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Reports from the Constant Spring police are that about 2:00 pm, a man realised that his home had been broken into and attempted to leave.

On his way out, Wilson pulled a handgun and fired several shots at him. He escaped unhurt.

The man immediately reported the matter to the police.

An investigation was launched and Wilson was accosted in the Red Hills area on Friday, September 22.

He was taken into custody and subsequently charged on Monday, September 25 following an interview in the presence of his attorney.
