Etana brings Culture Fest to South Florida on Aug 12
Etana and Reggae Date Night take roots-reggae to South Florida on August 12 with Culture Fest, scheduled for Lallo’s in Lauderhill.
Along with Etana, Bugle, Fantan Mojah, Natural Black and Lutan Fyah are featured acts. Completing the cast are I Noah, Ras Fraser Jr, the Evolution Sound and CD Master sound systems.
According to Etana, South Florida is due for a show of Culture Fest’s nature.
“This lineup is strong on roots-reggae with a hint of dancehall. It is deliberate because the artistes appeal to all age groups and are loaded with a positive message and much energy,” she said.
Culture Fest will be held in Lauderhill, a city with a large Jamaican and West Indian population.
Of note are the appearances of Bugle and Fantan Mojah who have not performed in South Florida for some time. Bugle is known for hit songs such as Nuh Compatible and Anointed while Hail The King and Rasta Got Soul are songs that won Fantan Mojah hardcore dancehall and roots fans.
“Bugle has steady been releasing some of the hottest reggae tracks over the years and not performed in Fort Lauderdale for some time now. Fantan Monjah is also another artist that has not been in the United States for years. He is about to light the stage up in straight fire mode at Lallo’s and break that 10-year hiatus,” said Etana.
Born in St Andrew, Etana was raised in South Florida where she attended high school and college. She has a strong following in the region through a number of hits including I Rise, Wrong Address, I am Not Afraid and Warrior Love.
