Firearm, ammunition seized in Hanover

HANOVER, Jamaica -- Police seized an illegal firearm and eight rounds of ammunition on the Chester Castle main road in Hanover on Wednesday.

Reports from the Lucea Police are that about 2:15 pm, lawmen were on patrol along the main road when they saw a man acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. Upon being approached by the cops, the man ran leaving behind a bag containing one Brazilian .38 Revolver containing five .38 cartridges as well as three additional cartridges.

Investigations are ongoing.
