KINGSTON, Jamaica —A woman was shot in the head in Grants Pen, St Andrew, on Friday night.
The incident reportedly happened in the Seaview area. The woman was taken to the hospital where she is said to be in serious condition.
Reports suggest the woman was abducted prior to being shot, however, that has not been confirmed by the police.
The Grants Pen area has been plagued by violence in recent weeks. Two men were killed in a drive-by shooting in the area on Monday. Four men have since been arrested in relation to the incident.

That incident followed the shooting death of David Clarke, who is said to be the brother of dancehall entertainer Mluleki Clarke, popularly known as Jahshii. Clarke was shot and killed by gunmen in Grants Pen last Saturday. Another man was shot and injured in the incident.

A 48-hour curfew was imposed in sections of the community on Wednesday. It ended on Friday morning.
