Aaron Johnson with bronze medal 125kg
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador - Jamaican Aaron Johnson captured the bronze medal in the sport of wrestling at the Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Games here today.
Johnson defeated Jadir Cerda of Nicaragua 6-2 in the 125kg category to claim the country’s first ever medal in the event at the CAC Games.
The 24-year-old Johnson also recently won a historic bronze medal for Jamaica in the event at the Pan Am Games in Argentina in April.
Meanwhile, Jamaica’s other competitor Jordan Mitchell missed out on a bronze medal when he went down 8-0 to Uber Cuero of Colombia in the third play-off matchup.
Jamaica's medal tally now stands at two silver and two bronze at the championships.
