Jamaica’s athletes on Friday morning will start their medal hunt at the NACAC Under-18/23 Championships to be held in San Jose, Costa Rica.

There are still doubts whether the full team that was named by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) earlier this week will compete after travel hiccups saw a number of athletes not being able to leave the island up to Wednesday.

A number of finals are scheduled to be completed Friday including all four 100m events, all four discus throw, triple jump and two mixed 4x400m relays.

Abigail Wolfe, Canelia Hope and Theianna-Lee Terrelonge were the athletes declared for the Under-18 women and Michaell Moodie for the Under-23 women.

Tramaine Todd, Ainsley McGregor and Cary Card were listed among the Under-18 men while the Under-23 men representatives will come from Adrian Kerr, Javorne Dunkley, Travis Williams and Shakur Williams.

The semi-finals of the 400m will also be contested on the first day as well as the 400m hurdles.

Ralford Mullings is entered for the Under-23 men’s discus throw, Despiro Wright, Javontae Smith and Joseph Salmon in the Under-18 men as well as Cedricka Williams and Damali Williams in the Under-23 women.

Able Mills and Shamoyea Morris will contest the Under-18 discus throw set for the afternoon session.

Central American and Caribbean Games silver medalist Danielle Sloley will contest the Under-23 women’s shot put.
