JLP blogger gunned down in St Ann

ST ANN, Jamaica – A well-known Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) blogger was shot dead by unknown assailant(s) in his community of Union Pen in Ocho Rios, St Ann on Wednesday night.

He has been identified as 37-year-old Phillip Taylor.

The Ocho Rios police report that shortly after 9:00 pm, residents alerted them to loud explosions coming from a section of the community.

Taylor's bullet-riddled body was later found in the front seat of a Toyota Probox motor.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.

Several JLP bloggers have been expressing condolences at the demise of Taylor, who was also a JUTA tours operator.

"Phillip Taylor may your soul rest in peace," posted one individual.

"Can't believe another general gone from the army. What a world? May his soul find peace. Gone but not forgotten," wrote another.

"RIP to JLP blogger Phillip Taylor," added another blogger.
