Klansman gang leader's sentencing halted over reported stomach issue

The sentencing of Klansman gang leader Andre "Blackman" Bryan came to a halt on Monday when he was observed clutching his stomach and subsequently removed from the courtroom.

Reports indicate that Bryan displayed signs of discomfort, keeping his head down for the majority of the time and even burping at one point.

Chief Justice Bryan Sykes reportedly instructed the police to investigate the source of his discomfort.

Meanwhile, Sykes proceeded with the sentencing of Bryan's co-convict, Tomrick Taylor.

The trial of the St Catherine-based Klansman gang members commenced in September 2021 with 33 defendants, including leader Bryan.

In the final verdict delivered in March 2023, Bryan and 14 others, including the sole female defendant Stephanie Cole Christie, were convicted of various offences, including membership in a criminal organisation.
