Major drug bust in St James, Westmoreland
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The police have made a major drug bust in St James Tuesday morning during which they seized several parcels containing cocaine.
Subsequent to the seizure a search was conducted at a house in the parish where the police discovered a large sum of cash in US currency.
According to an OBSERVER ONLINE source, the drugs was discovered during a major operation carried out by members of the Narcotics Police, Specialised Operations team, the St James Police Division, and the Jamaica Defence Force, between the parishes of Westmoreland and St James early Tuesday morning.
During the St James leg of the operation, the drugs were found in a Toyota Voxy motorcar, which was intercepted in Coral Gardens.
Up to late Tuesday afternoon, members of the Financial Investigations Division were still at the St James house conducting investigations. More information later
