Man charged after gun found in speaker at Westmoreland home

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A 26-year-old man was charged after a firearm was found in a speaker inside his bedroom in Spring Garden district, Sheffield in Westmoreland on July 12.

Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon is Dane Buchanan of the community.

Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar Police are that a snap raid was conducted at the home of Buchanan during which one 9mm magazine was found.

He was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
