Over 300 children feted at Briana Williams’ Christmas treat in Flanker
ST JAMES, Jamaica— Over 300 children from the community of Flanker in St James were treated to a day filled with rides, musical entertainment and toys during a Christmas treat hosted by Olympic gold medalist Briana Williams on Friday, December 22.
A news release about the recently held event stated that the Flanker football field was transformed into a Christmas wonderland for the athlete’s fourth annual Christmas treat.
The inspiration to host the treat in St James came from William’s mother, Sharon Simpson, who hails from Montego Bay.
Briana was also joined by Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta, who is from Flanker. He shared a message of love and togetherness for those in attendance, the release disclosed.
“We provided gifts as always to Paradise and Norwood, but had the event at the Flanker football field this year as it is a more central location. Despite the rain, it was well-attended, a shower of blessings. The children were so much fun to share gifts with and dance with. I already can’t wait for next year!” an overjoyed Williams stated.
“Montego Bay is special to me, and I hope this event reminds the little ones of the meaning of Christmas. It’s about sharing with others and spreading joy wherever you go,” she added.
According to the release, the event was supported by Digicel and Grace Foods, of which Williams is a brand ambassador.
The refreshments from Grace Foods and Digicel included popcorn, snow cones, hot dogs, sorrel and other delights that brought smiles to the community, the release concluded.
