Reggae Boyz make six changes for game against St Kitts
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaican coaching staff has made six changes to the team that beat Trinidad 4-1 in their first round game of the CONCACAF Gold Cup when they play St Kitts/Nevis at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday.
Three players will make their Gold Cup debuts while veteran Adrian Mariappa will captain the team that only needs a point to advance to the quarter-finals.
The coaches have however retained the attacking core that includes Demarai Gray, Leon Bailey and Michail Antonio.
Barnsley FC’s midfielder Jon Russell, goalkeeper Jahmali Waite of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the USL Championship and Kaheem Parris of Ukrainian Premier League club Dynamo Kyiv will make their Gold Cup debuts.
Jamaica are on four points after drawing 1-1 against the USA in their opening game then beating Trinidad and Tobago 4-1.
The starting team is -Jahmali Waite, Amar’i Bell, Dishon Bernard, Adrian Mariappa (c), Dexter Lembikisa, Jon Russell, Joel Latibeaudiere, Leon Bailey, Demarai Gray, Kaheem Parris and Michail Antonio.
