Reggae Youths and Cambridge seek wins in St James FA Major League
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Reggae Youths and Cambridge FC will both go after back-to-back wins when the St James Football Association Sandals Resorts International Major League continues this weekend.
Reggae Youths, who had won their opening game against Granville FC, rested last weekend and will take on Montego Bay Boys Club at the UDC Field on Sunday and a day later Cambridge FC will take on joint leaders Flankers FC at the same venue.
Also on Sunday, Lilliput Rovers will face Heights FC at Spot Valley High School; all games are set to start at 3:00 pm.
Lilliput Rovers and Flankers FC are the leaders on four points each, after wins last weekend, followed by Reggae Youths, Cambridge FC and Heights FC on three points each, while Montego Bay Boys Club and Granville FC are yet to open their accounts.
After drawing their opening game against each other, Lilliput Rovers and Flankers FC, both scored wins on Saturday over Montego Bay Boys Club and Granville FC respectively.
Cambridge FC, who were playing their first game of the season, beat Heights FC 4-2 in the other game.
Lilliput Rovers’ 5-0 win over Montego Bay Boys Club gave them the edge on goal-difference as they led 3-0 at half time before completing a comfortable victory.
Flankers FC got their first win beating Granville United 3-1 as the former champions lost back-to-back games.
Cambridge FC made a winning start with a 4-2 win over Heights FC whose goals were scored by Jason Lee in a losing effort.
