St Mary man charged after stabbing incident
ST MARY, Jamaica – Lawmen assigned to the Annotto Bay Police Station have charged Cleo Benderson, a 43-year-old a farmer of Enfield district, Annotto Bay, St Mary with wounding with intent, following a stabbing incident in his community on Saturday, May 13.
According to reports, about 2:00 am Benderson and a man were at a bar when an argument developed between them.
During the altercation a knife was used to stab the man in his chest and stomach as he made an attempt to leave the premises. Benderson later reported to the police that he had stabbed a man who tried to rob him and he was also injured in the process.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment and was pointed out by the man who was also being treated there. Benderson was taken into custody and charged on Thursday, May 18 following a question and answer session.
His court date is being finalised.
