Trelawny man accused of shooting neighbour in abdomen charged

TRELAWNY, Jamaica – A 37-year-old man was charged after he reportedly shot his neighbour in the abdomen during a dispute in his community of Race Course, Falmouth in Trelawny on September 16.

Charged with wounding with intent and possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition is Orie Armstrong, otherwise called ‘No Doubt’.

Reports from the Falmouth police are that about 11:00 am, Armstrong and his neighbour were arguing when Armstong went to his house and returned with a gun.

He then fired several gunshots at the neighbour, injuring him in his abdomen.

The neighbour escaped and was assisted by residents to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

A report was made to the police and Armstrong turned himself in later that day.

He was charged on Wednesday, September 20.
