Tuscany, Russia win second in WFA Major League
LLANDILO, Westmoreland – Tuscany Warriors and Russia FC made it two straight wins after they scored contrasting victories over West Development and Barracks Road, respectively, in the Westmoreland Football Association/Victor Lowe Major League at Llandilo Sports Complex on Thursday.
With the wins, they joined Petersfield FC in a three way tie for the lead on six points each, two more than Straths FC with four clubs tied on three points – Sav La Mar United, Twelfth Street, Shewsbury FC and Belmont Uprising.
After opening with a 5-1 win, Tuscany Warriors blanked West Development 4-0 in their first game and Russia FC scored back-to-back 2-1 wins.
Rushawn Graham gave Tuscany Warriors the lead in the 24th minute when he converted a penalty but they had to wait until the 67th minute when Zeco Stone scored to make it 2-0.
Stevaughn Spence got his second of the season in the 76th minute before Malik Williams added the fourth in the 80th minute.
Kemar Dawkins scored a first-half double for Russia FC in the 22nd and 37th minutes to lead them to the win while Jordan Reid kept Barracks Road in the game when he scored in the 57th minute.
