WATCH: Jamaica observes National Day of Mourning for children
The country on Friday observed a National Day of Mourning for Jamaica’s Children in solidarity with Danielle Rowe and other children whose lives were taken tragically.
Rowe, 8, was brutally attacked on June 8, when she was abducted after leaving Braeton Primary and Infant School in Portmore, St Catherine. She was left with a slashed throat and later succumbed at hospital.

The Proclamation for the Day of Mourning was read by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen during a ceremony at King’s House on Wednesday, which was endorsed by Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
The devotion session was held at the Braeton Primary School Friday morning under the theme ‘Save our Children, Save our Home, Save our Nation, Save our Future.’
